The front of the resort was quite picturesque and hte breakfasts were good.

The Alam Kulkul is a nice hotel at the front and the are staff helpful, but it is over priced. Our family room was us$200, smelt of rotting fruit or dirty nappies (diapers) and had a view of a back alley. Not what I expect from a room costing this much. The room and bathroom had only basic furnishings which clearly had been around for a long time. The room needs to be refurbished. We stayed in three 4 star hotels in Bali over a two week trip. The Alam Kulkul was the most expensive and most uncomfortable.

It was a beautiful resort, really well designed with a green focus. I loved that the hotel supplied its own banana's, star fruit, and fresh frangipani's in the rooms daily. The gardens were lush and wonderful teaming with tropical flowers and fruits. Breakfast buffet was comprehensive and although breakfast was not included in our package we opted to eat at the resort most mornings as the food was so tasty! Located a short walk from Kuta and in the other direction you could walk 5 mins along the beach through to Seminyak. Really accessible and a haven from the business of the markets of Kuta. Each Friday night the resort had a mediterranian dinner for the guests where we were invited to free cocktails, wines, beers and nibbles for the hour before dinner - a good chance to mingle with other guests before a quick presentation and prize draw for hour long massages in the resort spa. All the staff were really helpful and friendly! The resort organised a driver to pick us up at the airport - his name was "G'day" and he also did freelance driving. We booked him in for five days to take us to various surf spots and places of interest. He was a wealth of information and spoke quite good English. G'day was an asset to his employer and a great introduction to Alam KulKul Resort. Would definatley stay again!

Villa room was extremely well presented, close to all ammenities including the pool.Staff were some of the best we have encountered in bali and at all times attempted to exceed expectations. Hotel has a proactive approach to ensure guest satisfaction.

Bit of a walk to shopping/markets, although this is a very personal thought as we like to be in the hub of Kuta.

    Fabulous

Stayed here for six nights mid April 2011 and was a very comfortable stay especially the Lanai rooms. Staff were all very helpful and good choice if want to be not too far from the madness of Kuta which is ten minute walk. Only minor downside was the beach across the road which was fairly dirty and the terrible noise from building works next door where a giant complex is being built! Other than that would recommend this for anyone wanting a comfortable stay and willing to pay a bit more than other hotels in the area

Rooms could have done with a bit more natural light since it could be the brightest day outside but you would never know this unless you stepped out of your room

    Good

The landscape is good.and the best spot is at the restaurant which has beach view.

There's only 1 receptionist, makes me waited longer when another guest asked for something (e.g using phone) The park is too dark at night. Better you add more lamp. The bathroom is too small for our room(quad room).

I loved the location across from the beach and close to Kuta Shopping area, also the traditional feel of the gardens and rooms in the resort. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating, I would recommend this resort for a fantastic holiday

we liked the bath in the floor under almost open sky with a frog and a gold fish in our own mini pond)) Everything was just fine!)

the breakfast wasn't included and costed 10$ which is kind of expencive for such country

    Fabulous

We enjoyed our stay at Alam Kulkul, although we found the location quite isolated. Our room was comfortable and quiet, located next to the pool. The staff were very efficient and friendly, we would recommend this hotel for couples looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

The only thing we did not like about the hotel was the distance to local cafe`s and shopping.
